Below is a message from the Technology Institute for Developmental Educators (TIDE), concerning their 16th Annual Conference, to be held in San Marcos, January 4th though January 8th, 2016. The event is sponsored by CRLA, NADE, McGraw-Hill Higher Education, and Innovative Educators.

How successful is your use of technology in your developmental educational work? Would additional learning time for your students outside your class or learning center help some of your students learn better? Come join us at TIDE for an intensive 4-day, hands-on workshop where you learn how to integrate desktop technology and mobile apps into your developmental work while networking with other developmental educators.
What can you expect at TIDE? Begin by bringing a technology project for your students on campus or off to use desktop or mobile tutorial apps to compliment what they are learning. Learn how to incorporate tutee apps into your project for students to expand their understanding of concepts and processes. Learn how to integrate tool apps to assist students completing group project and then individual projects. Network with developmental educators from around Texas or around the world learning from their successes. Receive personal attention from mentors Dave Caverly from Texas State University, Lucy MacDonald from Florida State College - Jacksonville, Chris Woods from South Texas College, and Tina Swiniarski from Triton College who have a combined 80 years of developmental education experience.
Wind down over lunch, dinner, and evening events included in your registration. Fly into Austin Bergstrom International Airport and we’ll pick you up on Monday and return you on Friday. Receive year-long support after you return to your campus as you finish developing these projects, reflect on their success, and network with the mentors for improving the projects. Bring your family where they can explore all Central Texas has to offer from Austin with its museums, parks, and weirdness to San Antonio with its Riverwalk, Alamo, and missions.
