Lt. Gov. David Dewhurst has announced the members of the Senate Finance Committee. The panel is extremely important in the appropriations process. Members who are represented by these senators should be prepared to contact these individuals in the months ahead.
As expected, chairing the committee will be Steve Ogden (R-Bryan). The vice chair will be Juan "Chuy" Hinojosa (D-McAllen). The other members are:
Robert Deuell (R-Greenville), Robert Duncan (R-Lubbock), Kevin Eltife (R-Tyler), Craig Estes (R-Wichita Falls), Eddie Lucio Jr. (D-Brownsville), Jane Nelson (R-Lewisville), Dan Patrick (R-Houston), Kel Seliger (R-Amarillo), Florence Shapiro (R-Plano), Royce West (D-Dallas), John Whitmire (D-Houston), Tommy Williams (R-The Woodlands), and Judith Zaffirini (D-Laredo).
